So on Friday night we spent the evening at Joseph Beth Booksellers signing and selling books. At least Russ did. I just had fun talking to old friends and new ones. We had more friends come by than actual people looking to purchase books but then, we did have a great dinner in The Cafe beforehand so it was a fun time.
The next day I helped Russ to cut and load a downed tree for some firewood for next winter. And promptly heard "POP" in my back. And spent the rest of the day and all day yesterda…

You are invited to read a couple of interviews with Dyan. Remember Dyan is sharing the truths about the items in her toolbox. It isn’t a “secret” – these truths have been around for centuries. The secret is learning how to make these changes happen.

We finally heard from our granddaughter who is teaching in China. All of the volunteers in her area are safe. She's in Changsha, to the east of the earthquake area. She said her students noticed that everything in the classroom was swaying. They didn't know what had happened at first. I cannot imagine what those poor people are going through. My prayers are with them and those heroes who are rushing to their aid.
This week has started out of focus. I'm a very scheduled person, I guess because o…

This is definitely a bad hair day.
First of all, it's raining and I have ton of things to do outside.
Second, my equine vet came. That was a good thing. However, his bill wasn't as good as I would have liked but, then, I only see him once a year.
Third, my horseshoer forgot to call me to say he had to cancel coming today because so many horses were foundering because of the rich grass around here. At least he'll show up on Monday.
Fourth, my computer is slower than molasses because it's raining…

My husband, Russ, and I spent almost every weekend in April at a book fair. April 12th saw us in Barbourville, KY, for the Redbud Writers' Row. We got to see Lynwood and Benita again -- other Kentucky authors that we keep seeing at book fairs. Not only did we have a good time, but I came home with 6 or 7 free redbud seedlings which we have planted along a field. Hopefully they will take and we will have some beautiful flowering trees in the next couple of years.
The next weekend we were in Bowl…

I think I'll celebrate Earth Day by weeding the flowerbeds. But then bare ground is all I'll have because there are no flowers. I do have some autumn sage and Texas sage and a butterfly bush, but I won't show pictures because they're so pathetic. A gardener I am not.
The nearby fields are looking great. The wheat grows taller every day. Which reminds me: How many times have you seen the heroine in a story described with lovely wheat-colored hair? When I read this description I have to laugh. Ta…
