I remember reviewing this one for a site years ago - it's a stunning book. Most of the books I've reviewed over the years I don't remember in much detail, but this one really stayed with me.

The Copper Age is here!

If your idea of comics is men in brightly coloured spandex hitting each other, then think again. Comics are a medium, not a genre, and can be used for telling all kinds of stories. Webcomics aren't a genre either, just a delivery method - usually free - and increasingly including things like mobile phone downloads.

Typically comics are uploaded once or twice a week, page at a time, for people to read. Webcomics do make the transition into paper sometimes, which is cool, but having the electroni… Continue

Pirates and vampires

The Pirates can be found at www.loveyoudivine.com onboard 'The Devil's Rose' - part one of what I hope will be a pirate short story series. Part two is on the way. There's adventure, mistaken identity, comedy, and a fair amount of erotic content.

The vampires - meet Jane Bled, hot new author and vampire enthusiast. I interviewed her for my blog - www.myspace.com/brynneth_n_colvin

My war against the ultimate evil

I've been fighting it for years! Ultimate evil is a terrible thing - it wrecks stories. It's an easy, and tedious plot device, woefully overused, especially in the fantasy genre. Having read yet another book this week, in which the plot was all too apparent because lets face it, the demon lord was not going to be standing on the ruins of the city on the last page, I am posting on a few sites.

Resist the ultimate evil! Don't write about it! Come up with something more original, please!

It's all gone mad!

But in the nicest possible way. My short story 'First Blood' and my novel 'The White Hare's lament' came out at www.loveyoudivine.com this week.

Having spent the winter writing gothic/erotic/romance, full of dark depravity, moody protagonists and dark fantasy, all of a sudden, I'm doing comic pirate smut! maybe its just because the sun has returned.

I've taken on a managing editor role at www.loveyoudivine.com which has meant working with Nix Winter on some of her gorgeous writing 'Blue Promis… Continue

fancy a head****

I may not be the only one to have done this. When I was writing the story, the title was obvious. But I didn't have my book selling head on, and had not thought about how tricky this offering might be to talk about. The title is rude enough that I'm not sure I should even post it here. But it does work on a number of levels. It's an erotic love story, full of madness and psychic connection (how do you tell the two apart?).

My brave and intrepid publisher thought it might be worth a go... curiou… Continue
